Tenebrous Edge

A faction that was started on Dereth modeled after the Shagar Zharala, a Gharu'ndim order of assassins.

Background: On Ispar the Shagar Zharala had become corrupt and one of the its members who adhered to the old ways, Hamud ibn Rafik, and his daughter were banished and left Ispar for Dereth. On Dereth Hamud started the Tenebrous Edge based on the true teachings of the Shagar Zharala.<ref name=FallenMaster>2000/02 Shadows of the Past - The Fallen Master of Shagar Zharala</ref><ref>2000/02 Shadows of the Past - Precepts of the Tenebrous Edge</ref> Unfortunately Hamud allied himself with the shadows viewing them to be "incarnations of the very ideals that we in the Zharalim tried to emulate". It was the Zharalim's motto that "To fight darkness, first become a shadow." Current: The Tenebrous Edge ended with Hamud but the Zharalim continue to operate in Dereth. Many work for Nuhmudira but others were corrupted by the shadows like Hamud was.

Their members in Dereth, are considered renegade Zharalim by some.<ref name=PersuasionTeaser>2002/03 Persuasion - Teaser</ref>
