Starter Guide

This guide is intended for veterans of Asheron's Call. If you've never played AC before, the New Player Guide may be a better place to start.

The first thing all new Infinite Leaftide players should understand is that this is not an End-of-Retail server. A large amount of content has been added to provide challenging and fun gameplay beyond the base game. There is no level or enlightenment cap, allowing for infinite character growth.

The two main currencies on ILT are Enlightened Coins and Luminance. Most activities revolve around farming these two currencies. Luminance isn't viable to farm efficiently until you have high Enlightenment and Quest Bonus, so early on you’ll focus on earning Enlightened Coins. When you need Luminance, you can purchase it from other players (or bots) who have it available for sale.

See Custom Functionality on Infinite Leaftide for more information.

Character Creation

When it comes to character creation, there's very little you can mess up. There's no cooldown on respecs, so if you start with suboptimal attributes or specs, you can easily change them later.

The only thing that's harder to change is your race and appearance. Admins can help to a degree, but for example, if you choose Lugian, they may not be able to change you to Aluvian later if that’s what you want.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • The Old Man Willow Quest starter quest line begins in Shoushi. It is recommended that new players set Shoushi as their starter city.
  • The robe and gauntlets acquired from Old Man Willow Quest will last a long time. You don’t need to replace them right away. However, if you want to, you can try building a suit with legendary keys. (Note: most player power comes from Custom Augs.)
  • Infinite Leaftide includes a Quest Bonus (QB) system that increases XP and Luminance gained from all actions based on the number of QB stamps you've collected.

These stamps show up in chat and look like this: You've stamped OldManWillowStart!!

Each stamp earned increases your bonus. You can:

  • View your total stamps using `/qb`
  • View all current bonuses using `/bonus`

For more detail, see Custom Functionality on Infinite Leaftide.

Important: The tutorial area contains QB stamps that cannot be obtained after leaving. (QB is account-wide, so you can still get them later by creating a new character and redoing the tutorial.)

I've Completed the Tutorial. What Now?

Once you've completed the tutorial, here are the recommended next steps:

  • Hand your Pathwarden Token to the Pathwarden Greeter and open the chest behind him to equip your **5% XP trinket**
  • (Optional) Ask for help in general chat — vassals are in high demand, and most experienced players are happy to assist new players
→ When choosing a patron, keep in mind that many quests require higher augmentations — a well-augmented patron can assist you with content that a less-augmented character may not be able to handle.
  • Buy spell components
→ The Aun Archmage from CK is also located in the **NE corner of the Marketplace**
→ He buys most loot, making him a convenient vendor
→ It’s strongly recommended to complete 500 by 50 early on
  • Familiarize yourself with this Wiki — it contains guides, walkthroughs, and details for all major systems
  • Join the Discord!
→ Most common questions have already been asked
→ Use the search feature to quickly find answers

Augmentation Gems

On ILT, there is a difference in Augmentation Gems or augs and Luminance augs or more commonly known as Custom Augs. Custom augs are unique to the server and provide the majority of your player power. Your goal on this server will be to increased your custom augs are much as possible. → Custom Aug Gems

Augmentation gems work the same as in retail and provide powerful benefits.

Aug Gem Guide

Sir Bellas Augmentation Gem

  1. Use Abandoned Mines Portal Gem
  2. Enter the first room on the right, and take the portal to Augmentation Realm Main Level
  3. It is no longer required to turn in an Eater jaw before every Sir Bellas kill.
  4. Jump down, run to the end, and kill **Sir Bellas** to obtain a Blank Augmentation Gem (2-day cooldown)

Farmer Noah's Assistance

Entry level quest

Nalicana Augmentation Gem

Recommended after finishing Boat, since you’ll already be at Asheron's Castle.

  1. Use Abandoned Mines portal gem (10 MMD purchase) to access the subway
  2. Enter the AC Storage Portal
  3. Use the Asheron's Castle portal device (room to the east)
  4. Inside the castle, locate the Token of Augmentation Gem on a table in the far southeast
  5. Hand it to Nalicana to trade 100,000 luminance for a Blank Augmentation Gem (2-day cooldown)

Luminance Gambling

A fast way to earn Blank Augmentation Gems:

  1. Use the Crater Portal in the subway
  2. Enter the Night Club
  3. Speak to the Game Masters to gamble Luminance
  4. Blank Augmentation Gems are one of the possible rewards
  5. Use a Vtank route to automate this for efficiency

Enlightenment

Enlightenment on ILT is different from retail. While Enlightenment is unlimited here, XP is not the only limiting factor as it is in retail. XP is easy to come by on ILT thanks to characters with high XP multipliers — however, you’ll be limited by the number of Enlightenment Tokens required after ENL 5.

Many players swear their main character to an alt (or vice versa) so that one can macro while the other continues gaining XP. There are also plenty of XP leech spots where another player can help power-level you — it can take just a few minutes to gain enough XP to Enlighten again.

  • VoD, Caulcano, outside of Candeth Keep, or many more

For more information, see the wiki page below-

Enlightenment

While Enlightenment is important, most new players will focus on spending their Enlightened Coins on custom augs rather than Enlightenment Tokens, until their character has progressed a fair amount.

Events

ILT regularly features custom, admin-run events. These often happen daily and typically reward an Event Coin.

Important: Event Coins have a 20-minute expiration timer — whether you're online or not — so be sure to spend them immediately!

You can spend them at Events R Us in the Marketplace (look for the large Mu-Miyah).

Common high-value purchases include:

These two options are equivalent in value — 500 Weakly Enlightened Coins can be traded for 50 Enlightened Coins, but not the other way around. While items like MMDs and Luminance can be helpful, their value is generally lower than 50 Enlightened Coins (as of writing this guide — 7/3/2025).

Events may also reward custom rare items or unique QB stamps. Be sure to check in and participate whenever you see an event running!

Macroing Dungeons

Infinite Leaftide features many custom dungeons specifically designed for farming the currencies needed to progress your character. You can find a full list here: Custom Dungeons on Infinite Leaftide

Most custom dungeons feature auto-loot — when you kill a mob, there’s a chance an item will be directly placed in your inventory. The type of loot depends on the dungeon:

  • Some dungeons drop trinkets, aetheria, or custom items (which turn in to an NPC in return for a specific reward)
  • Others (ENL dungeons) reward higher Luminance per kill but do not drop loot
    • These are only efficient with a large fellowship, otherwise they produce less currency than Coin dungeons of the same aug level

Important: You must be flagged for the dungeon's auto-loot to receive items. → This means you need to enter using the actual portal. If you tie to the dungeon and use a portal recall to enter later, you will not get the stamp that enables loot drops.

Daily Activities

Collect Your Stipends

Talk to Monroe in Arwic (near the lifestone in town) or at Marketplace Can be collected **every other day**, but it's best to check daily so you don’t miss a reset Once you finish your level 8 spells and Augmentation Gems, stipends aren't as important.

Kinoko’s Mushroom Collection

Entry level quest which rewards Enlightened Coins

Lala's Treasure Hunt

Entry level quest which rewards an Enlightenment Token

Summoning T'thuun (Books)

One of the easiest daily quests for an enlightenment token. The quest steps below can be skipped and you can go straight to Tulmada if you see someone in General announce "Books"

  1. Town Network → Eastham
  2. Go to **Patriarchs Valley** at 17.6N, 63.5E
  3. From the drop, go straight, then to the portals to the West, North, and East
  4. Each portal leads to a spiral dungeon — **NASCAR** up and kill the boss
  5. Collect the three books
  6. Recall, give **one** book to **Captain Tulmada** → triggers **T'thuun event**
  7. Return to pit, kill all humanoids
  8. Tulmada spawns next to you — speak to receive reward

Saving Asheron

This requires a quest chain but is a solid **entry-level enlightenment token quest**. No augmentations required, can be done daily once unlocked.

Defeating the Curator of Torment

If you see "BROADCAST : Deep in the Catacombs of Torment, Inventive Exile has struck down the Curator of Torment, forcing him again for a time into his prison in the abyss of Portalspace." in General chat, then someone has killed all 4 of the sanctum crystals and you can skip to Part 2. Easy quest to complete with just a few Custom Augs

Deewain's Dark Cavern

Easy quest for an Enl token.

Vicky

Vicky is a quest that is often cleared and called out in General chat. Depending on if the person doing Vicky cleared the whole dungeon, or just killed Vicky. You might be able to survive running through (wear a shield and be in combat) and looting Vicky at the end.

The other mob that can be killed for Vicky is the Man Behind the Row. You might also see that called out in General.

Investigating VoD

Like Vicky, often times players will announce when they are clearing the dungeon or going to do the quest and you can tag along.

Killtasks

The end of retail kill tasks can be a good early source of currency for a new character. As a level 275, they can be very difficult but with 50 creature augs, you should be able to do them daily

  • Hoshino
  • Tou-Tou
  • Rynthid Plains
  • Graveyard
  • Snowy Valley
  • Neftet

Questing for QB

It is highly recommended that you make a copy of the ILT Mega Tracking book and keep track of your QB. Once you reach 6-7k QB, the spreadsheet will become less useful and you will need to find other ways to find quests for QB.

Updates to this spreadsheet are posted in the leveling and qb guide channel on Discord. Not all stamps listed on the spreadsheet are obtainable.

  • 500 by 50 is a great first guide to follow for the server

These resources help you raise Quest Bonus efficiently:

QB-Rich Quests

Equipment Quests

Festival Stones of Empyrean Quest

Easy quest to complete for a Ring of History

Shoushi Casino (Wetwater Bandits)

This quest 100% requires a carry if you are new, but it only takes a few minutes for someone with high augs and it will give you a ring that will last you a long time- Gan-zo's Upgraded Purple Society Band

Lost Noble Armor

This quest rewards Loyalty Tunic which can be very helpful. This quest is done in VoD, so you will need a carry who can clear VoD well.

Help the Pizza Maker

Enl 10 to enter, this quest is very difficult and will require a very geared carry (choose your Patron wisely)

Yozor's Gift

This necklace has Imperil 7 cast on strike, which is very nice to have as a melee or archer, as well as other powerful spells.

Wicked Wares

This vendor features many custom rares that are very strong on the server. While you might not be able to afford them at the start, there are many items you will eventually want to purchase.

Aerbax's Prodigal Drudge

Reward: Protective Drudge Charm — one of the best easy-to-get necklaces. This can easily be replaced by Martine's Necklace, which is rewarded for doing Enlightened Martine which is a quest you won't be able to do until you are at soft cap custom augs, but the necklace is pretty widely available on the server to purchase.
