Character Creation
The first thing all new Infinite Leaftide players should understand is that this is not an End-of-Retail server. A large amount of content has been added to provide challenging and fun gameplay beyond the base game. There is no level or enlightenment cap, allowing for infinite character growth.
On Infinite Leaftide there are a couple of considerations to take into account when starting a character beyond those of a retail server.

First, the Old Man WIllow starter quest line is stared in Shoushi as such it is recommended that all new players set Shoushi as their starter city.
The two main currencies on ILT are Enlightened Coins and Luminance. Most activities revolve around farming these two currencies. Luminance isn't viable to farm efficiently until you have high Enlightenment and Quest Bonus, so early on you’ll focus on earning Enlightened Coins. When you need Luminance, you can purchase it from other players (or bots) who have it available for sale.

Finally, Inifinite Leaftide has a Quest Bonus(QB) system which increases the XP and Luminance gained by all actions based on the number of Quest Bonus stamps you have collected.
See Custom Functionality on Infinite Leaftide for more information.

These stamps will show up in chat and look similar to OldManWillowStart!.
Character Creation
Each QB stamp earned increases your bonus and you can view how many stamps you have earned by typing /qb additionally you can see your bonuses from all sources using the command /bonus again, see Custom Functionality on Infinite Leaftide for more detailed information on these systems.
When it comes to character creation, there's very little you can mess up. There's no cooldown on respecs, so if you start with suboptimal attributes or specs, you can easily change them later.

The Quest Bonus system comes into play when you get to the tutorial area because there are QB stamps available inside the tutorial area that you cannot access again after leaving.
The only thing that's harder to change is your race and appearance. Admins can help to a degree, but for example, if you choose Lugian, they may not be able to change you to Aluvian later if that’s what you want.

(Quest Bonus is account wide so you can get these stamps by starting another character and completing the tasks).
Here are a few things to keep in mind:

I've completed the tutorial, what now?
* The Old Man Willow Quest starter quest line begins in Shoushi. It is recommended that new players set Shoushi as their starter city.
* Hand your path warden token to the path warden and open the chest behind him to collect and equip the 5% increased XP trinket.
* The robe and gauntlets acquired from Old Man Willow Quest will last a long time. You don’t need to replace them right away. However, if you want to, you can try building a suit with legendary keys. (Note: most player power comes from Custom Augs.)
* Complete the Old Man WIllow quest line from the large golem near the path warden. Do pay attention to what they are telling you this is a tutorial of the custom systems on the server. It additionally provides you with a great set of items to get you started.
* Infinite Leaftide includes a Quest Bonus (QB) system that increases XP and Luminance gained from all actions based on the number of QB stamps you've collected.
* (optional) Reach out in general chat. Vassals are in high demand and most players are more than happy to help you get started for the opportunity to have another person on the team.
* Get your spells from the trainers in Arwic.
* Buy Spell components (The green Aun archmage from CK is additionally located in NE Marketplace for convenience. He also buys most things in the game an is a good place to sell your loot.)
* Start getting your Augmentation gems (see Below)
* Complete the Facility hub for levels and QB
* Begin working your way though the # Custom Dungeons on Infinite Leaftide and their associated # Custom_Quests/Areas_on_Infinite_Leaftide#Kill_Tasks
* Raise your character up via Gem Augmentation and Enlightenment's
* Run quests for Quest Bonus and equiptment(See notes below)

Augmentation Gems
These stamps show up in chat and look like this: OldManWillowStart!
Augmentation gems are that same as in retail and still provide a great deal of benefits.

Nalicana Augmentation Gem
For more detail, see Custom Functionality on Infinite Leaftide.
Note: It is most efficient to complete this directly after completing Custom_Quests/Areas_on_Infinite_Leaftide#Bloodstone_Excavation_(Boat) as you will already be at Asheron's castle.

Use your Abandoned Mines portal gem (10 MMD Purchase) to get to the subway, then run straight into the AC Storage Portal. Then use the Asheron's Castle portal device in the room to the east. Inside Asheron's Castle locate the Token of Augmentation Gem on the table in the far South-East corner and hand it to Nalicana to exchange 100,000 luminance for one Blank Augmentation Gem. (2 Day timer)
Important: The tutorial area contains QB stamps that cannot be obtained after leaving. (QB is account-wide, so you can still get them later by creating a new character and redoing the tutorial.)

Sir Bellas Augmentation Gem
I've Completed the Tutorial. What Now?
Use your Abandoned Mines Portal Gem (10 MMD Purchase) to get to the subway then go forward and turn into the first room on the right. Take the portal to the Augmentation Realm Main Level. Jump down run to the end and kill Sir Bellas to acquire a Blank Augmentation gem. (2 Day timer)

Luminance Gambling
Once you've completed the tutorial, here are the recommended next steps:
A great way to get your Augmentation gems quickly is to take the crater portal in subway and go into the Night Club inside you will find game masters that will allow you to gamble using luminance and one of the possible winnings is a blank augmentation gem. (use a vtank route to make this easier.)

Daily Activities
* Hand your Pathwarden Token to the Pathwarden Greeter and open the chest behind him to equip your **5% XP trinket**
* (Optional) Ask for help in general chat — vassals are in high demand, and most experienced players are happy to assist new players
→ When choosing a patron, keep in mind that many quests require higher augmentations — a well-augmented patron can assist you with content that a less-augmented character may not be able to handle.
* Buy spell components
→ The Aun Archmage from CK is also located in the **NE corner of the Marketplace**
→ He buys most loot, making him a convenient vendor
* Begin collecting Augmentation Gems (see below)
* Once you're level 200+, complete Nalicana's Test to unlock your **Luminance flag**
* From completing the Old Man Willow Quest, you’ll receive **5x Enlightenment Token**, which grants you **7 "free" Enlightenments**
* Start working on Quest Bonus and gear

Gaerland Quest QB farming
On ILT, there is a difference in Augmentation Gems or augs and Luminance augs or more commonly known as Custom Augs. Custom augs are unique to the server and provide the majority of your player power. Your goal on this server will be to increased your custom augs are much as possible.
There is a ton of QB to be gatheres here as there is a different stamp for each riddle, riddle failure, and each weapon.
→ Custom Aug Gems

From Town Network take the Eastham portal. from the drop run West-NorthWest past the tent and into the small underground room at 17.1N, 63.0E

Run to the end and use Gaerlan's Phylacteric Prison.

T'thuun (Books)
This is the easiest and fastest daily quest that rewards enlightenment tokens.

Travel to Eastham via the town network. Run to the Patriarchs Valley portal at 17.6N, 63.5E. From the drop jump into the valley directly ahead. and run to the portals to the West, North, and East. Each portal will take you to a dungeon that is a spiral to the left. NASCAR your way to the top of the dungeon and kill the guy at the top. each one drops a book. recall one more time and hand one of the books to Captain Tulmada. the other 2 will be automatically removed from your inventory and it will begin the T'thuun event. jump back into the pit and run to the middle and kill each of the humanoid spawns. upon completion, Timada will appear next to you. Speak to them to receive your reward.

Saving Asheron
# Use Abandoned Mines Portal Gem
This quest requires the completion of a quest chain to get where it's easy to do daily, but it doesn't require any augmentations to complete and is a decent entry into daily enlightenment tokens.
# Enter the first room on the right, and take the portal to Augmentation Realm Main Level
# It is no longer required to turn in an Eater jaw before every Sir Bellas kill.
# Jump down, run to the end, and kill **Sir Bellas** to obtain a Blank Augmentation Gem (2-day cooldown)

Aerbax's Prodigal Drudge:

This Quest is notable for the Protective Drudge Charm it is one of the best necklaces you can easily attain. It is recommended to complete the following quests at the same time as they are all in the same place. Drudge Plan, Aerbax's Prodigal Drudge, Drudge Lurker Kill Task, Drudge Stalker Kill Task, Drudge Ravener Kill Task, Altered Drudge Kill Task, Augmented Drudge Kill Task
Enlightenment on ILT is different from retail. While Enlightenment is unlimited here, XP is not the only limiting factor as it is in retail. XP is easy to come by on ILT thanks to characters with high XP multipliers — however, you’ll be limited by the number of Enlightenment Tokens required after ENL 5.

Many players swear their main character to an alt (or vice versa) so that one can macro while the other continues gaining XP. There are also plenty of XP leech spots where another player can help power-level you — it can take just a few minutes to gain enough XP to Enlighten again.

* VoD, Caulcano, outside of Candeth Keep, or many more

For more information, see the wiki page below-

Enlightenment

While Enlightenment is important, most new players will focus on spending their Enlightened Coins on custom augs rather than Enlightenment Tokens, until their character has progressed a fair amount.

Events
ILT regularly features custom, admin-run events. These often happen daily and typically reward an Event Coin.

Important: Event Coins have a 20-minute expiration timer — whether you're online or not — so be sure to spend them immediately!

You can spend them at Events R Us in the Marketplace (look for the large Mu-Miyah).

Common high-value purchases include:

* Weakly Enlightened Coin x500

* Enlightened Coin x50

These two options are equivalent in value — 500 Weakly Enlightened Coins can be traded for 50 Enlightened Coins, but not the other way around. While items like MMDs and Luminance can be helpful, their value is generally lower than 50 Enlightened Coins (as of writing this guide — 7/3/2025).

Events may also reward custom rare items or unique QB stamps. Be sure to check in and participate whenever you see an event running!

Macroing Dungeons
Infinite Leaftide features many custom dungeons specifically designed for farming the currencies needed to progress your character.
You can find a full list here: Custom Dungeons on Infinite Leaftide

Most custom dungeons feature auto-loot — when you kill a mob, there’s a chance an item will be directly placed in your inventory. The type of loot depends on the dungeon:

* Some dungeons drop trinkets, aetheria, or custom items (which turn in to an NPC in return for a specific reward)

* Others (ENL dungeons) reward higher Luminance per kill but do not drop loot
** These are only efficient with a large fellowship, otherwise they produce less currency than Coin dungeons of the same aug level

Important:
You must be flagged for the dungeon's auto-loot to receive items.
→ This means you need to enter using the actual portal.
If you tie to the dungeon and use a portal recall to enter later, you will not get the stamp that enables loot drops.

If you see "BROADCAST : Deep in the Catacombs of Torment, Inventive Exile has struck down the Curator of Torment, forcing him again for a time into his prison in the abyss of Portalspace." in General chat, then someone has killed all 4 of the sanctum crystals and you can skip to Part 2.

Vicky is a quest that is often cleared and called out in General chat. Depending on if the person doing Vicky cleared the whole dungeon, or just killed Vicky. You might be able to survive running through (wear a shield and be in combat) and looting Vicky at the end.

The other mob that can be killed for Vicky is the Man Behind the Row. You might also see that called out in General.

Killtasks
The end of retail kill tasks can be a good early source of currency for a new character. As a level 275, they can be very difficult but with 50 creature augs, you should be able to do them daily

Revision as of 10:34, 3 July 2025

Contains InfiniteLeaftide specific changes and has diverged from End of Retail.

Starter Guide

This guide is intended for veterans of Asheron's Call. If you've never played AC before, the New Player Guide may be a better place to start.

The first thing all new Infinite Leaftide players should understand is that this is not an End-of-Retail server. A large amount of content has been added to provide challenging and fun gameplay beyond the base game. There is no level or enlightenment cap, allowing for infinite character growth.

See Custom Functionality on Infinite Leaftide for more information.

Character Creation

When it comes to character creation, there's very little you can mess up. There's no cooldown on respecs, so if you start with suboptimal attributes or specs, you can easily change them later.

The only thing that's harder to change is your race and appearance. Admins can help to a degree, but for example, if you choose Lugian, they may not be able to change you to Aluvian later if that’s what you want.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

 • The Old Man Willow Quest starter quest line begins in Shoushi. It is recommended that new players set Shoushi as their starter city.
 • The robe and gauntlets acquired from Old Man Willow Quest will last a long time. You don’t need to replace them right away. However, if you want to, you can try building a suit with legendary keys. (Note: most player power comes from Custom Augs.)
 • Infinite Leaftide includes a Quest Bonus (QB) system that increases XP and Luminance gained from all actions based on the number of QB stamps you've collected.

These stamps show up in chat and look like this: You've stamped OldManWillowStart!!

Each stamp earned increases your bonus. You can:

 • View your total stamps using `/qb`
 • View all current bonuses using `/bonus`

For more detail, see Custom Functionality on Infinite Leaftide.

Important: The tutorial area contains QB stamps that cannot be obtained after leaving. (QB is account-wide, so you can still get them later by creating a new character and redoing the tutorial.)

I've Completed the Tutorial. What Now?

Once you've completed the tutorial, here are the recommended next steps:

 • Hand your Pathwarden Token to the Pathwarden Greeter and open the chest behind him to equip your **5% XP trinket**
 • (Optional) Ask for help in general chat — vassals are in high demand, and most experienced players are happy to assist new players
→ When choosing a patron, keep in mind that many quests require higher augmentations — a well-augmented patron can assist you with content that a less-augmented character may not be able to handle.
 • Buy spell components
→ The Aun Archmage from CK is also located in the **NE corner of the Marketplace**
→ He buys most loot, making him a convenient vendor
→ It’s strongly recommended to complete 500 by 50 early on
 • Familiarize yourself with this Wiki — it contains guides, walkthroughs, and details for all major systems
 • Join the Discord!

Investigating VoD

Like Vicky, often times players will announce when they are clearing the dungeon or going to do the quest and you can tag along.

Killtasks

The end of retail kill tasks can be a good early source of currency for a new character. As a level 275, they can be very difficult but with 50 creature augs, you should be able to do them daily

Questing for QB

It is highly recommended that you make a copy of the ILT Mega Tracking book and keep track of your QB. Once you reach 6-7k QB, the spreadsheet will become less useful and you will need to find other ways to find quests for QB.

Updates to this spreadsheet are posted in the leveling and qb guide channel on Discord. Not all stamps listed on the spreadsheet are obtainable.
