I suspect there is a timer on picking up the brands, then using them
Each party member does NOT have to spawn the boss. Looting the ring is enough. Tested 5/25/2012.

I got
 
 
22:07:09 You allow Guardian Statue to examine your Lady Saliane's Brand.
 
22:07:09 You hold the brand expectantly up to the statue, but nothing happens.
 
22:07:09 You suspect that the magic only works for those who start at the beginning.
 
Was the same when i handed the 2 other brands.
 
 
I got them 48 hours before, and parked it.  I guess they have a "time to live".
 
Has anyone else seen this?
