Overview
- Prerequisites
In order to start this quest, you must have completed the Investigate the Factions quest, which allows you to preview each faction.
Walkthrough & Notes
- Speak to Arturus of the Eldrytch Web at 26.3N 49.6E in Cragstone.
- Get Corrupted Mana Shard
- Leaftide Experience
- Go to Sub > AC Storage and use the pedestal.
- Retail Experience
- Head to the Corrupted Catacombs at 23.9S, 54.1E near Sawato. If you will be taking a group, you can tie to Empyrean Foundry at 25.1S 54.1E to make a much shorter run.
- The place is somewhat of a maze so you might have to backtrack. Run through the dungeon (look for down ramps) until you find a Slimy Key on the ground in a room with pillars. The route from the drop is straight at first intersection, right on next, then left. Keep right hand rule until a ramp down into a room with pillars, and go left (South) here and more ramps down. Next intersection go right, and on the floor is the key.
- From here head back up in the dungeon and look for a locked door (660 diff). The door isn't far past a surface portal in the area with Sclavus. If you have run through the Swamp Ruin portal, it might be easier to recall and re-enter the dungeon. The route from the drop is straight at first intersection, right on next, then left. Keep right hand rule until a ramp down into a room with pillars, and go straight (West) here into the sclavus part. From there, go right at next intersection and down, once you find the portal in a pillar room, go straight (West) and there is the door.
- Once through the door, grab the Corrupted Mana Shard from the pedestal.
- Leaftide Experience
- Return the shard to Arturus of the Eldrytch Web to be initiated into the Eldrytch Web faction.
- Use the Initiate's Treasure Key to loot one of the four chests inside the Eldrytch Web Stronghold (Armor Quartermaster's Chest, Equipment Quartermaster's Chest, Weapon Quartermaster's Chest, Researcher's Chest).
Notes
- The Corrupted Mana Shard will only last 1 hour before turning to dust so you must hand it in to Arturus of the Eldrytch Web within 1 hour of picking it up.
- Once initiated, you can now use the portal to the Eldrytch Web Stronghold located next to Arturus.

- Arturus of the Eldrytch Web tells you, "Greetings. My name is Arturus. It is my honor and duty to aid people who wish to join our Society to prove themselves and be properly initiated to our Society."
- Arturus of the Eldrytch Web looks at some notes on a scroll.
- Arturus of the Eldrytch Web tells you, "I see that you have aided Jondor Torgren in Zaikhal and met with our recruiter in Ayan Baqur to receive a copy of our manifesto."
- Arturus of the Eldrytch Web tells you, "If you wish to join our Society, then I have a task for you, to prove your commitment. In the swamps of middle Osteth there is a cave. In that cave is the entrance to the Corrupted Catacombs. If you search around 23.9S, 54.1E, you should find the entrance."
- Arturus of the Eldrytch Web tells you, "In those catacombs, you'll find a Corrupted Mana Shard. Retrieve the Shard and bring it to me, and your test will be complete."
- Arturus of the Eldrytch Web tells you, "Be warned, once you have the Shard, it'll be rather unstable, and will last only an hour before it turns to dust. I'll cast a spell on you that will protect you from the corruption of the Shard. I wouldn't recommend touching it without the protections."
- Arturus of the Eldrytch Web chants briefly, and then touches your brow.
- Arturus of the Eldrytch Web tells you, "There, you should now be able to carry the Corrupted Mana Shard safely."
- Giving Corrupted Mana Shard to Arturus of the Eldrytch Web
- You give Arturus of the Eldrytch Web Corrupted Mana Shard.
- Arturus of the Eldrytch Web tells you, "Well done. You have done all I asked of you, and done so quickly enough for the Mana Shard to still be in one piece. Well done indeed."
- Arturus of the Eldrytch Web tells you, "Welcome to the Society of the Eldrytch Web! Nearby, you will find a portal into our Stronghold, where you will find several important people to your future within our Society."
- Arturus of the Eldrytch Web gives you Eldrytch Web Initiate Armor Writ.
